Restorative Breathing combines mindfulness meditation principles, stretching, movement
and gentle yoga postures to support overall wellness of the mind and body. These
classes and workshops will help you develop both mental and physical practices to
restore natural, optimal breathing.

Restorative Breathing 1-hr classes: Flowing through the practice
- Fridays: April 18, 25, May 2
- 10-11AM
- Akasha Yoga Studio, 3211 Holiday Court, #203
- $15/class; $40 for all three
- This class flows through a series of meditations and gentle postures to create centeredness
in the mind and body. This is a drop-in class. No experience necessary. Wear comfortable,
non-restricting clothing.
Restorative Breathing 2-hr workshops: Gaining deeper understanding
- Wednesdays: May 14, May 21, May 28, June 4
- 7-9 PM
- Four Seasons Yoga, 7770 Regents Road
- $30/session or $100 for all 4 sessions
- Limited class size; register online to reserve a space Each session covers
the same basic routine of exercises, but goes in depth exploring different areas
of the body and different meditative principles. Each session can stand alone, but
attendance of all 4 sessions will provide a more complete understanding of the practices.
No experience is necessary. Wear comfortable, non-restricting clothing. Bring a
yoga mat if you have one.
May 14: Breathing into the abdomen; awareness & present
moment focus
May 21: Breathing into the chest & sides; acceptance, non-judgment
& validation
May 28: Breathing into the upper back; tolerance & compassion
June 04: Breathing into the lower Back; patience, invitation & practice
Sessions will
include meditative inquiries, gentle movement and stretching, discussion of anatomy
and physiology, exploration of the mind-body connection, and application of practices
to everyday life.
