Breathing as a Therapeutic Resource
What is Restorative Breathing?
The way we breathe has a strong impact on our moods, our stress levels, our physical health, and our overall vitality. There are many approaches to breathing, and my approach, which I call "Restorative Breathing" is a natural, gentle approach designed to guide the breathing back to it's optimal balance. Breathing awareness can be used to calm anxiety, eliminate panic attacks, restore energy, and decrease a variety of physical symptoms related to hyperventilation, such as lightheadedness, dizziness, tingling, numbness, and headaches. I draw from mindfulness principles, physiology/anatomy knowledge, somatic psychology, and cognitive-behavioral principles to help guide people's breathing to an optimal balance for the body and mind.
Restorative Breathing Collection
Guided practices for restoring vitality to the body and mind
I've created this collection to help guide people to practice mindfulness and to develop more balanced breathing to calm the mind and body. It includes one hour of practices which flow together into a continuous session. Each track also stands alone, so that you can practice shorter sessions or mix and match the segments depending on your present needs and time available. This work is based on mindfulness principles and breathing techniques as taught by Dennis Lewis and Donna Farhi.
